Rotherham folk help those in difficulty overseas

FUND-raisers aiming to back people caught up in natural disaster zones and wars were encouraged by people’s generosity as they carried out collections over three days.

A team of volunteers from the Sheffield-based Almustafa Trust International (ATI) charity weathered both sunshine and rain as they set up shop in Rotherham town centre and collected £391.75 for orphans and families facing difficulties overseas.

A charity spokesman said: “ATI would like to thank Rotherham Borough Council for granting permission for the street collections and ATI staff, volunteers and people who donated the money during the three-day charity event.”

To get involved as a volunteer in future ATI charity events, please contact Fund-raising Officer, Zafar Iqbal Khokhar, on 0114 2447253 or 0742 7466777.
