MP's plea over LGBT charity's future
Ms Champion, shadow minister for preventing abuse and domestic violence, paid tribute to Broken Rainbow.
The organisation, based in Manchester, has helped 42,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in its 11 years.

Hide AdBut the Home Office has yet to indicate whether it will provide funding for the charity to continue into the next financial year.
Ms Champion said: “Broken Rainbow do incredible work supporting people in the LGBT community who have suffered from domestic violence.
“They are a lifeline to thousands of people up and down the country who can't find specialist LGBT services locally.
“I am extremely concerned that they face imminent closure unless funding can be found.”

Hide AdThe MP visited the charity to launch its Rainbow Dot campaign to increase awareness of domestic violence in the LGBT community.
Jo Harvey-Barringer, the charity’s managing director, said: “The Government needs to recognise that domestic abuse in the LGBT community is a real problem and provide funding for the specialist services the LGBT community needs.”
