MP to star in behind the scenes TV documentary

TELEVISION viewers will be able to see Rotherham MP Sarah Champion at work in a revealing behind the scenes documentary next week.

Sarah will be one of the main characters in the first episode of a four part BBC series called ‘Inside the Commons’. Presented by Michael Cockerill, the documentary has been given unprecedented access into the lives of a number of MPs over the past 12 months. Camera crews followed Sarah as she dealt with what became one of the most difficult years in Rotherham’s history.

Talking about the documentary, Sarah said: “I think it’s fantastic that the public are being given the opportunity to see some of the day-to-day work of their MP. The more transparent and open we can be about Parliament the better.

“This is a job that I absolutely love, despite some incredibly difficult moments, and I hope my enthusiasm comes across in this programme. It is an honour to represent the people of Rotherham in Parliament. I hope my constituents will see just how much it means to me and how hard I work for them.

“This documentary is a unique chance to see what happens behind the scenes, not just with the work I do, but also in Westminster as a whole and I hope people tune in.”

Inside the Commons is on BBC2 at 9pm on Tuesday.
