Hide AdEvent organiser Keith Stringer said: “Support for this fundraising effort was tremendous and came not only from Maltby, but from other parts of our borough too.
“It was a magnificent occasion. I never thought in a thousand years that we would have raised £700, but we did.”
Madeline Dyson, marketing and communications co-ordinator at Rotherham United Community Trust, added: “We were happy to attend with Miller Bear.
“We brought along a signed ball for the raffle to help with fundraising, and also gave Keith and his wife Carol a personalised signed 60th wedding anniversary card from the full RUFC squad.”
