Hospice wins public’s funding vote

A CHILDREN’S hospice has been gifted £1,000 after being backed in a public vote for in a national funding giveaway.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, was awarded the money by the Benefact Group after more than 4,000 South Yorkshire residents nominated a cause close to their hearts.

The financial services group’s annual “12 days of giving Christmas campaign” saw the hospice nominated to win a share of £120,000.

A total of 120 charities across the UK were picked at random from those nominated, with 4,600 charitable causes in South Yorkshire receiving votes.
