Dominic (20) takes the chair at council

ROTHERHAM’S youngest borough councillor has taken the reins as chairman of Anston Parish Council.

Cllr Dominic Beck (20) was elected unopposed after serving as vice chairman of the finance committee since May 2011.

He said: “The lessons and experiences I have learned through chairing the odd meeting of the parish council and finding my way at the Town Hall in Rotherham has helped me become very comfortable with my responsibilities.

“I’m very proud to live in Anston and feel very honoured to have become the chairman. I am fully aware of the challenges that confront the parish council in these difficult economic times.”
