Care home fundraisers were looking their age - or were they?
ANYONE out and about in the Rother Valley last weekend could be forgiven for giving a double take at this unsual band of walkers.
There was more to the silver-haired, shawl-wearing brigade — complete with inflatable walking frame — than met the eye as they were in fact mostly staff from the Ladyfield House care home, along with a few relatives of residents.
They completed a ten-mile sponsored walk along the canal to Worksop and back in fancy dress as “elderly people” and raised more than £1,000 to fund activities for residents.
