Bramley is on the rise

Whilst agreeing with AK Bird that the new Tesco superstore will be a death knell for some of the beleaguered businesses of Rotherham town centre, we cannot condone your sentiments regarding Bramley village.

BRAMLEY finished off, we don’t think so Mr or Mrs AK Bird (Advertiser letters page Friday December 13).

OK Morrison’s and the abysmally ill-conceived one way system did initially take their toll, however a few years later and Bramley does not have one empty shop and offers a variety of quality produce and services.

We can’t say all the businesses are thriving. nonetheless they are all surviving and during the current climate of recession they are to be applauded and supported for their effort and perseverance.

Our most recent acquisition is Moo-Di designer ladies clothing which is doing a roaring trade, whilst last year the King Henry pub (formerly the Ball Inn ) reopened as a Sizzlers pub and restaurant and is always full, where previously it was the village black spot.

A new street cleansing machine purchased by Bramley Parish Council will soon appear to make the village a little more visually inviting, also BPC are in the midst of a tree planting scheme throughout the whole village.

Sorry AK Bird you are so wrong, Bramley’s phoenix is truly rising and we hope you will reconsider your views.

On behalf of Bramley council, may we take this opportunity to wish a wonderful Christmas and prosperous new year to the residents of Bramley and everyone throughout the borough.
