Firefighters were also called to Hoades Avenue, Woodsetts, at around the same time, after water flooded into a property.

A crew from Maltby helped pump water from the building.

There were also reports of flooding on Cinder Bridge Road between Greasbrough and Parkgate, and Moorgate, near Rotherham Hospital.

Around 56 properties in the Kimberworth area were also left without power for around three hours on Monday afternoon.

The Environment Agency said there were no flood warnings in place for Rotherham.

Forecasters said showery outbreaks of rain are expected to continue on Tuesday but will become lighter and fade out on Tuesday night.
