Pensioner puts out blaze

A WOMAN in her 80s managed to put out a blaze which started after she knocked over an oil radiator at her home in Thurnscoe.

The pensioner, of Challenger Crescent, extinguished the fire which spread to the carpet and skirting boards in her bedroom.

Fire crews from Dearne Station were alerted at 9.40pm last Sunday.

They gave the woman oxygen for smoke inhalation at the scene, but she did not go to hospital.
