Rotherham Borough Council leader Cllr Roger Stone said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people across Rotherham to celebrate the arrival into the borough of the Olympic spirit which the torch symbolises.

“We are urging everyone to come along and see the torch. We’ve had so many people wanting to know where the torch is going it’s great now to be able to confirm the route.”

Torchbearers were successful through a public nomination process run by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games.
