Older people can chat and laugh in new Clifton Park group

A NEW group is being launched at Clifton Park next week to bring older people together for a chat and a laugh.

Friends of Clifton Park chairman Elaine Humphries said she was launching the new weekly sessions, which will run from 10am to noon for men aged 60 and over.

The Time Out and Come In mornings will not have a formal structure but could lead on to activities and further events being organised, she said.

“It’s about getting people together to make friends, spend time together and maybe make the most of the park, too,” said Elaine.

“It could be that they want to start playing bowls at the park again or go to the seaside — we’ll just see where it takes us.”

The new group’s first get-together will take place at the park’s Garden House from 10am on Monday, April 24.
