New hall for Brinsworth plans are unveiled

PLANS for a modern community building to replace a dated hall have been unveiled by a parish council.

The proposed Brinsworth Resource Centre would include a large hall with stage and bar, cafe, meeting room, kitchen and ICT facilities.

It would replace the community hall on the corner of Brinsworth Lane and Field View, which was built in the 1960s.

Brinsworth Parish Council’s planning documents said: “The proposed building would have an attractive modern and welcoming appearance. 

“It would be situated closer to Brinsworth Lane than the existing building to give it more presence in the streetscene and make it more welcoming.”

The development depends the council’s stage three bid for BIG Lottery funding, currently being considered. 

Lottery officials prefer for planning permission to be in place before making decisions on allocating funds.
