New deputy fire office for region
A NEW Deputy Chief Fire Officer has been appointed by South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
John Roberts, who was SYFR’s Assistant Chief Fire Officer, has stepped up to the new role following the retirement of the former deputy Mark Shaw.
Mr Roberts (39) initially joined SYFR in October 2009 becoming assistant chief in January 2013 after beginning his career at Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service in 1997.
