New constables line up for duty

TWO new police constables are destined to patrol the streets of Rotherham after completing their training.

They are among 18 new PCs who have just finished their 14-week Initial Police Development Training Programme.

PCs Craig Holmes and Darren Fay have been selected to work in Rotherham while the other officers will be deployed in Sheffield, Barnsley and Doncaster.

The new recruits’ success was marked with a celebration evening attended by Assitant Chief Constable Rachel Barber and the students’ friends and family.

The new officers will be joining their districts after Christmas and will then receive tutoring for ten weeks before being supported as a member of one of the force’s Local Policing Teams.
