MP: “Vote for Rotherham’s best shop”

SARAH Champion has called on independent retailers to enter a parliamentary competition searching for the country’s best small shop.

Business owners can submit an application saying why they deserve the title and those shortlised will be invited to the House of Commons.

Rotherham MP Ms Champion said: “I really do believe that Rotherham has some of the best independent retailers in the country and I hope that they take this opportunity to prove it.

“Rotherham’s High Street in particular has seen a huge transformation. It now offers a fantastic experience for shoppers in the town and is attracting more and more visitors from other areas.

“It has been incredibly difficult in recent times for independent retailers and I am proud of the way those in Rotherham have stuck it out and made a success of their business.

“I want those retailers to now show exactly what they and Rotherham have to offer by entering this competition, and getting the recognition they deserve for the brilliant work they do supporting the community and creating jobs.”

The All Party Parliamentary Small Shops competition will be judged on innovation, community engagement and entrepreneurial activity. Enter at www.bestsmallshops.uk.
