Man arrested after sheep bitten

SHEEP were left with bite injuries at a farm – and police want anyone with information to get in touch.

Two sheep belonging to a farmer on Limekiln Lane, Stainton, were found with bite injuries on August 15 at 2pm and one animal had to be put down.

Police say it is the second time that the farmer’s sheep have been targeted.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.

It is believed that the bite injuries were caused by another animal.

A police spokesman said: “It is believed that the sheep may have been attacked between 12pm on Wednesday August 13 and 1pm on Friday August 15.”

Police urge anyone with information to call on 101 quoting incident number 538 of August 15.
