Jobs axed at Dearne Valley electrical appliance company

Swinton company Morphy Richards laid off the workers from its operations and quality assurance department.

Bosses said the restructure would help the firm survive and no further redundancies were being planned.

Swinton ward councillor Ken Wyatt said it represented “disappointing news” at a long-established local employer.
