Jaime-Lee aiming to conquer the universe

BEAUTY queen Jaime-Lee Faulkner will come out of pageant retirement to take part in this year’s Miss Universe Great Britain contest.

Jaime-Lee, of Treeton, will travel to South Wales for the final in July and a win would see her go on to the international competition.

The 26-year-old won the world title of Miss Scuba International in 2013 after taking part in a number of pageants and then chose to step down from the catwalk.

But a chance at the Miss Universe honour has lured her back.

Jaime-Lee, who runs Faulkner’s Beauty Salon at Brinsworth Road, Brinsworth, said: “After Miss Scuba International I said I am going to go out on a high and not compete any more. Then I realised I really missed it.

“The pageant I always dreamed of doing well in was Miss Universe. It’s the number one in the world.”

Although Jaime-Lee has organised events since her retirement, she said she gained so much personally from taking part in them that she now wanted to experience it again.

She said: “Ultimately, all of them empower women.
