Hygiene award makes Porkey's as happy as a pig in . . .

A SANDWICH shop in Rotherham has been awarded one of the highest hygiene ratings in the region.

Porkeys Sandwich Shop, on Rawmarsh Hill in the town centre, is owned by brother-in-laws Keane Fletcher and Stephen Benton, who received a four star out of five rating from the Scores on the Doors Rotherham Borough Council initiative.

Mr Fletcher said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded the four-star rating by the food safety team.”

The entrepreneurs are now aiming for a five-star rating which has only been achieved by one other sandwich shop in South Yorkshire.

The shop, which has only been running for one month, was helped by a £500 grant from the Rotherham Enterprise Project run by RiDO—the council’s regeneration arm.
