Help for Rotherham's community groups

A SERIES of free workshops aimed at supporting people involved in community groups and tenants’ and residents’ associations is being held this autumn.

Rotherham Federation of Tenants and Residents (RotherFed) is organising the workshops, which start on October 5 with a session entitled How Groups Work.

Two more sessions, Effective Meetings and Problems With Groups, will be taught by Steve Ruffle, development manager of RotherFed.

The fourth session, Introduction to Publicity, is to be facilitated by Andy Kershaw of Radio Sheffield while the final session, Looking for Funding, will be facilitated by Jim McLaughlin of South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau.

All sessions are between 10am and noon on Tuesday mornings at Springwell Gardens Community Centre, Eastwood.

People can attend one individual session or all five—and everyone who completesthe full course of all five sessions will receive a special certificate.
