Andy Lock, head of operations for the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, said: “With 14 per cent of adults in the coalfields out-of-work on benefits, and only 50 jobs for every 100 adults of working age it is essential that we show our support for organisations that are tackling these issue head on.

“Following the launch of a three-year strategy, which focuses specifically on employment as one of three key areas, we will work with partners to develop the skills of those living in the communities and support activities that improve the employability of local people.”
