Get a wedding dress bargain - and help charity

MUM and daughter Karen and Gaynor Hughes are hoping to sell thousands of pounds worth of wedding dresses to help a cancer charity.

The duo, of Park Road, Conisbrough, have organised a bridal boot sale to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Karen has stage-four terminal breast cancer and the pair hope to raise big money for the charity.

The event — on Saturday, August 20 —  is for women who have been unable to sell their wedding dress. Brides donate £5 to the charity to sell their dress but keep the profit on the sale price.

Gaynor said more than 100 dresses have been registered so far and more are being added daily.

The event — which will take place at the John Charles Centre for Sport on Middleton Grove, Middleton in Leeds, from 11am to 4pm —has a £2 entry fee which will also be donated to Cancer Research UK.

There will be a catwalk show and wedding suppliers hosting raffles and competitions.
