Funeral of Didcot collapse victim to be held

THE funeral of one of two Rotherham men killed in the Didcot Power Station collapse will take place today (Tuesday).

Demolition worker Ken Cresswell (57), from Clifton, died when the boiler house he was working on collapsed with him trapped inside in February.

His colleague John Shaw (61), from Kimberworth, Christopher Huxtable (33), from Swansea, and Mick Collings (53), from Teesside also died in the incident.

The bodies of Mr Shaw, Mr Cresswell and Mr Huxtable were only found earlier this month — almost seven months after the collapse.

Mr Cresswell’s funeral will be held at Rotherham Crematorium at 1.30pm today.

A tribute sent to the Advertiser said the "beloved husband of Gail, loving dad of Gail, Fiona, and Sadie and much-loved granddad of Nancy and Darcie," would be "sadly missed by all his family and friends".

Mr Shaw’s funeral was held last Tuesday.
