Former pub set for demolition

There had been plans for a children’s nursery inside the old Haynook at Kimberworth Park.

But the application was withdrawn, with the kids’ centre chain saying the business would not be viable.

Blue Support Services bought the property for £300,000 plus VAT in October 2021.

The firm’s application to demolish the property has now been given the green light by RMBC.

A 1.8-metre palisade fence erected to secure the site from vandalism did not have planning permission and would be dealt with separately as an enforcement matter, the council said.
