Football will kick-start fund-raising in memory of tragic Tom

A DAY of football will help raise cash for life-saving equipment at Rotherham Hospital in memory of a teenager who died of an undiagnosed heart condition.

Tom Fellows (19), of Bramley, died after suffering a burst aorta, which was caused by coarctation of the aorta — a narrowing of the heart’s main artery — that he was totally unaware of.

His family and friends will hold two football matches at Oakwood High School — where Tom was a pupil — top raise money for the British Heart Foundation’s campaign to install a new echocardiogram scanner at Rotherham Hospital.
