DESPITE months of talks South Yorkshire’s  firefighters are set to go on strike again.

Fire Brigades Union bosses are planning a 48-hour strike from Sunday after talks with management finally hit rock bottom.

The severe action comes as fire chiefs have refused to withdraw the threat to sack South Yorkshire firefighters or to end the procedures already underway to carry out the sackings.

The FBU have announced the strike starting at 9am on Sunday morning.

It has also given the Fire Authority until Monday to withdraw the threat to sack firefighters or there could be another eight-day strike.
