Firefighters tackle playground blaze

The blaze occurred on Fleming Way in Flanderwell on Wednesday at 7.50pm.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue (SYFR) said a crew from Rotherham station attended the scene for 20 minutes.

Just after midnight on Thursday a car caught fire accidentally as it was parked on Sivilla Road in Kilnhurst.

A SYFR spokeswoman said it was believed an electrical fault caused the Seat Leon to catch fire outside the owner’s home.

A crew from Dearne attended the scene for around half an hour.
