Financially troubled Hellaby Hall new owners announced

The four-star Hellaby Hall Hotel, on Old Hellaby Lane, announced new owners and management on its rebooted website last week.

Doncaster-based AJL Hotel Holdings Ltd also runs hotels in Retford and Sheffield.

Previous operators Prima Hotels Group called administrators in May after financial difficulties. The building was put up for sale in September.

Complaints on the hotel’s Facebook page bemoan missed bookings and sub-par weddings under the old owners.

But group general manager Ian Stephenson is confident service has improved — and will keep doing so.

“The hotel is out of administration and this should mean a period of investment, getting it back to where it should be,” he said.
