Fat blamed for Herringthorpe cooker fire

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said firefighters attended the small fire at a house on Tennyson Road in Herringthorpe on Saturday, January 6.

A female tenant was home at the time but was not injured and the crew was in attendance for around 15 minutes.

The spokesman added residents should be sure to clean out ovens and grills regularly to avoid a build up of fat and grease.
