Fashion store expands after four months

THE owner of a fashion boutique has taken on her second unit within just four months of opening the first.

Michelle Black, owner of Boo, the women’s fashion boutique in Rotherham town centre, which opened in February, has been so indundated with customers that she has decided to open another branch.

The new men’s fashion store, Boi, will be situated in a unit next to ‘Boo’ and will complement the female range with new lines tailored for the fashion conscious male.

Boi will becomme the latest buissness to breathe new life into one of the flagship projects for Rotherham's Renaissance Programme—the newly-restored Imperial Buildings.

The clothing shop will join The Jeweller's Exchange, ROAR's Arts Hub women's clothing accessories boutique, Yella Brick Road and of course Boo.

Boi, like its sister retail outlet Boo, has opened in the centre with help from Rotherham Borough Council's business vitality rental and fit-out grants.

The grants scheme, funded by the council, is part of a drive to improve the range of shops and reduce the number of empty units.

Michelle said: “I'm so thrilled I'm expanding into men's wear its better than what I could have ever hoped for when starting out with Boo.

“I never imagined Boo would do so well in the first few months to warrant the expansion into a second unit.

“I know there's a market for the ladies' fashion we sell and I'm equally as confident that male shoppers will be thrilled with the lines we have on offer in Boi.”
