Rhea's roving comes to a halt
A RHEA’S bid for freedom has come to a dramatic end.
The ostrich-like bird’s unexpected spring migration to Sprotbrough ended when an RSPCA officer caught it.
The six-foot tall bird has gained something of a celebrity status as it wandered round the area near Sprotbrough Flash nature reserve for the last week.

But now the bird has been bagged and its flight to freedom has come to a halt.
Where it came from is still a mystery so the bird will be cared for until a home is found.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “Escaped rheas are a problem at this time of year.”
