Engineer training centre shuts its doors

BUDDING engineers and manufacturers have been left in the lurch after their training centre shut down without notice.

Apprentices attending Brinsworth Training, on Sheffield Road, were met with locked doors a sign saying the centre was closed until further notice on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for the centre’s liquidators Begbies Traynor said “the business experienced falling revenues leading to cash flow problems making it unviable to continue trading”.

She added that its 15 staff had been made redundant and apprentices will be found alternative training centres through the Skills Funding Agency.

“A meeting of members and creditors is due to be held in respect of Brinsworth Training Ltd on December 6 to discuss the proposed liquidation of the business under the supervision of Gareth Rusling and Ashleigh Fletcher of business advisers Begbies Traynor,” the spokesman said.

“The shareholders will vote on a resolution to place the business into a creditors’ voluntary liquidation and the chosen liquidators will then seek to recover revenue for the creditors by marketing the businesses assets, which is mainly engineering equipment used for training purposes.”
