Emma’s family stage comedy night for Bluebell Wood

A FAMILY whose daughter was cared for by Bluebell Wood have organised a comedy night in aid of the children’s hospice.

Parents Steve and Jane Knight experienced the North Anston team’s care when they lost Emma (13) to a brain tumour.

The couple, along with daughter Kate, have planned Rock With Laughter next Saturday (28) in Beighton, Sheffield.

Steve said: “Even though losing Emma was a sad time for us, we had happy memories of her being at Bluebell Wood.

“This is going to be a fantastic evening with lots of laughs to raise a lot of money. We’ve got a great line-up of comedians from all over the country, including Gary Skyner from Liverpool.”

The family has raised thousands of pounds for Bluebell Wood in the past few years. Jane said: “They made a huge difference to us at the hardest of times. Fundraising is just our way of giving something back.”

The event takes place at Beighton Welfare at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 from [email protected].
