Elderly pedestrian killed in collision

The woman, in her 70s, is believed to have been struck by a tipper-truck type vehicle as she crossed High Street, police said. 

Paramedics attended but the woman died of her injuries at the scene. She has not yet been named.

The road was closed for around three hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact police via: 101 and quoting incident number: 404 from 16 September.
