Eight charged with drugs offences

EIGHT people have been charged in connection with alleged Class A drug offences following a series of drug raids.

South Yorkshire Police have charged four men, two women, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy from Eastwood with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin.

They were charged on February 5 after officers executed a number of drugs warrants in Eastwood in October.

Vacars Khan (27), Catherine Styles (19), Paige Raynor (20), Vaclav Vnoucek (25), all of Selborne Street, Eastwood, were charged.

Also charged were Jan Toka (20), of Selwyn Street, and Jael Kuumba (20) of Lindley Street.

The two teenagers cannot be named for legal reasons.

The group will appear before Rotherham Magistrates’ and Youth Court on Tuesday, March 3 .

On October 10, officers from Rotherham’s proactive drugs team carried out warrants in Selborne Street, Lindley Street, Selwyn Street, Russell Street, Hatherley Road and Browning Road.

In addition, a 24-year-old man was convicted and jailed for four years in connection with Class A drugs offences.

Abdul Shakuur, of Bethel Road, Eastwood, was jailed for four years at Sheffield Crown Court on January 6 after pleading guilty to multiple counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Police arrested Shakuur last year after observing him dealing drugs out of his car in the Wharncliffe and St Ann’s areas of Rotherham.
