Driver injured in horror crash on Worksop Road

A YOUNG driver escaped a horror crash with a fractured pelvis after colliding with a telegraph pole, a wall and several trees.

The 21-year-old man had swerved to avoid a motorcycle travelling the opposite way — allegedly on the wrong side of the Worksop Road — at around 6.20pm on Wednesday.

Police believe that the rider had overtaken another car just before the collision. They are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving or riding shortly before it, to contact them.

The rider is believed to have been wearing a helmet and two tyres around their neck.
