Woman injured after gunmen shoot through door

A WOMAN had to be taken to hospital after a gunshot was fired through the front door of a house.

Gunshots were fired through the door of a property on Burrows Grove, Wombwell, just after midnight on Thursday, July 7.

Police said two men approached the property and fired a weapon through the closed door before running away from the scene.

Specialist police resources were sent to the area to search for the suspects, but no arrests have yet been made.

Officers remain in the area providing reassurance and carrying out an investigation.

Police believe it was a targeted incident.
