Witness appeal after cyclist suffers fractured skull

WITNESSES are still being sought after a cyclist suffered a fractured skull in an early morning collision.

The incident occurred on the Dearne Valley Parkway at around 7am on Monday, November 23 when a bicycle and a silver Mercedes E class collided at the Hemingfield roundabout.

Police have issued a fresh appeal for information.

A South Yorkshire spokeswoman said: “Initially, it was thought that the cyclist suffered minor injuries but hospital tests later revealed he suffered a fractured skull. 

“He has since been released from hospital.

“The driver of the Mercedes has been spoken to in connection with the incident but no arrests have been made.”
