Wath crime spree investigated

A CRIME spree which has included a robbery in Wath is being investigated by police.

Three robberies have taken place over the last week.

The first occurred at around 10.15pm last Friday (3 April) when a man with his face covered entered a garage in Barnsley Road, Wath, and threatened staff with what is believed to be a hammer.

He fled the scene with a quantity of money and cigarettes.

Other incidents happened at Sainsbury’s on Sprotbrough Road, Doncaster, at 9.50pm on Monday (6 April) and on Tuesday (7 April) at Cathill Services on Doncaster Road, Darfield.

Nobody was injured during any of the incidents but staff were left shaken.

The man is described as white, around 6ft to 6ft 3ins tall and of slim build.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

They believe the incidents are linked.
