Volunteers to quiz Rotherham police chief

VOLUNTEER groups will get the chance to quiz police chief Jason Harwin next week.

Chief Supt Harwin is the guest speaker at a meeting at Voluntary Action Rotherham’s HQ off Westgate on December 1.

Sarah Kelly of VAR said: “In recent weeks, some groups have raised issues about the need for greater clarity of appropriate communication methods and channels with the police, in particular, their and their service users’ experience of using the police non-emergency number, 101.

“Jason Harwin has been very keen to maintain a dialogue with the VCS and a meeting has been arranged for VCS organisations to discuss issues that have been raised recently.”
