Teenager becomes fourth charged in Denaby Main murder case

A TEENAGER has become the fourth person to be charged with the murder of a Denaby Main man.

Jerry Appicella's body was found inside a property on Craganour Place at around 9.45am on December 15, after officers responded to calls of concerns for his welfare.

Kian Gerrard (18), of Denaby Main, was charged with his murder on Thursday, bringing the total number of people charged to four. Gerrard has been remanded into police custody.

A post-mortem found Mr Appicella (51) died from head injuries.

Prior to his death, police believe Mr Appicella had been involved in an altercation with a group of people in an alleyway leading to Hickleton Street in Denaby Main on December 3.

Shae Nicholson (19), of Lincoln Close, Denaby Main; Martel Brown (23), of no fixed abode; and a juvenile, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have also been charged with his murder.

Officers are still keen to speak to anyone with any information on 101, quoting incident number 422 of December 14.
