Teen admits killing ‘kind, generous’ Rotherham foster carer by dangerous driving
The teen, who was 12 at the time of the incident, was initially charged with murder after Marcia Grant was killed in Greenhill, Sheffield.
South Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue attended on April 5 but Marcia died at the scene.

Hide AdRMBC paid tribute at the time, saying she was a “kind, generous lady” who was highly respected in Rotherham’s fostering community – providing “endless love and care” to children when they needed it most.
Marcia was also known to use her considerable experience to nurture and support new foster parents.
The Crown Prosecution Service’s decision was to bring a death by dangerous driving charge against the boy, who cannot be named because of his age.
He appeared at Sheffield Crown Court today (Tuesday) to admit the offence and will be sentenced at the same court on December 1.

Hide AdDet Chief Insp Andrea Bowell said: “Since Marcia’s death, my thoughts have been with her family and friends.
“They have lost a loved one under the most tragic of circumstances and will have to live with the heartbreaking consequences of the events of that evening for the rest of their lives.
“We continue to support her loved ones.”
Marcia’s family paid tribute after her death, saying: “Marcia was a warm, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and a pillar of her community.
“Her loss has already sent shockwaves through all who knew her or was lucky enough to be included in her orbit.”
