Smoke alarms save man's life
FIRE services are urging homeowners to press the button and test their smoke detectors, after a man was saved from a house fire when neighbours heard his alarm.
The 29-year-old man was led to safety from the smoke-filled building on Saturday morning after a neighbour heard the alarm sounding and dialled 999.
Firefighters forced their way in to the home on Elizabeth Way, Masbrough, at around 4.30am.
