Sex abuse trial: Victim "sexually assaulted after restaurant trip"

ALLEGED sex trafficker Basharat Hussain abused a 12-year-old care home girl on the way home from a Rotherham restaurant, a court heard today.

A 31-year-old witness said she was forced to give Hussain and two of his friends oral sex in his car after he picked her up from the care home when she was 12.

Hussain, who is one of seven defendants in the Rotherham sex abuse trial, was said to have asked care home staff: “Is it OK to bring them back at 11?”

The witness said the girls were taken to a restaurant in Rotherham town centre and “treated like grown ups” but she was sexually assaulted after Hussain pulled over on the way back to the care home.

“I remember telling him I was 12,” she told the jury at Sheffield Crown Court.

“But it felt like It was something I had to do and then I could go home.”

The alleged victim told the court Hussain was “really flash” and would always be driving around Rotherham with his brother “Ash”, who had a noisy Subaru which would shoot flames out the back.

The trial continues.
