Sex abuse trial: Asian men "passed round" victim left with "nits and STIs"

A WOMAN has told a jury how she was sex trafficked to Blackpool and “passed around Asian men” on a daily basis.

The witness, who said she was 16 at the time, was left “covered in nits and scabies, in a right state”, Sheffield Crown Court was told.

She said defendant Basharat Hussain started showing an interest in her younger sister and she tried to protect her from him.

She said as a result she was approached by two men who said they were friends of Bash and instructed her to go with them to Blackpool to deliver a parcel.

They went to a restaurant owned by an Asian man and the witness said she was left there.

The woman said: “I thought they were coming back but they never did.”

The woman said she was forced to live in a room above the restaurant, worked 12-hour days and was passed around Asian men for sex on a daily basis.

She said she once saw Hussain outside the restaurant in his car.

The woman said there was no way out of the building, she had no way of cleaning herself and was locked in overnight.

“I was covered in nits and scabies, I was in a right state,” she said.

She said the restaurant owner went on holiday to Pakistan and told her to work in a cafe over the road.

There she confided in her ordeal to the cafe owners who took her to hospital and put her in touch with the Rotherham abuse project Risky Business.

Risky Business’s Jayne Senior brought her back to live in Sheffield, she told the court.

The woman said that when she returned she was 17-years-old and had contracted sexually transmitted diseases.

The defendant claims he has never met the witness and her story is fabricated.

The trial continues.
