Rotherham store raiders evade police pursuit

TWO burglars abandoned their getaway car and escaped on foot after striking at a furniture store.

Police were alerted after they were seen on CCTV taking items from Homeflair, Rawmarsh Road, on Wednesday evening.

The pair abandoned their green VW Golf in Thrybergh after a pursuit by patrol cars and the police helicopter.

The Golf and some of the stolen property were recovered but no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting incident 1104 of May 23.
