'Roadside assault' on mother and daughter

A MOTHER and daughter were reportedly assaulted by a man at the roadside.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault but police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The 14-year-old girl was reportedly assaulted on East Bawtry Road at around 5pm on Sunday, June 13.

The girl was allegedly attacked at the side of the road by a man. She suffered minor injuries to her face and body.

Her mother was also allegedly attacked by the same man after rushing to her aid.

The police are urging witnesses or anyone who may have dash-cam footage to get in touch.

The 34-year-old man has been released on bail.
