Public place sexual activity prompts police appeal

SEXY shenanigans down a rural Rotherham lane have prompted police to set up a series of special patrols.

Officers confirmed that they are stepping up patrols in the Long Lane area of Whiston after reports of sexual activity in a public place.

A police spokeswoman said: “Reports stretch back several months, but there have been more complaints recently.

“The area is surrounded by fields, but does have a nearby housing estate, business and public footpath on Long Lane, just off the A631 West Bawtry Road.

“High-visibility patrols are being carried out in the area and South Yorkshire Police are warning that action will be taken against anyone committing any

criminal activity.”

Anyone who witnesses sexual activity in a public place is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police by dialling 101.
