Police pop up in community as part of Operation Duxford

A POP-up police event was held in Dalton as part of the engagement side of Operation Duxford, which brought about arrests for theft and drugs offences.

Officers were joined by councillors, RotherFed and RMBC housing, neighbourhoods and community safety officers on Meadow Close.

Ward councillor Michael Bennett-Sylvester said residents there had raised various problems in the past few weeks.

He added: “I’d like to thank the police and partners for responding with this event and facing up to some tough and frank questioning from residents.

“This isn’t though just a one-day thing, officers explained some of the actions they were taking.

“For residents we urge them to regularly report incidents and, if they don’t get action, to keep complaint or incident numbers, forward them onto myself or my fellow ward councillor and we will ask what’s happening through our various means of regular contact with the police and authorities.”
